But really allows Muhammad to get away with his very emotional behavior. Rogerson spends a good third of the book getting to rogeerson starting point, giving us a detailed description of Arabia’s geographical and political surroundings in the sixth century, before we get onto the meat of the Prophet’s life. Since I knew next to nothing of the man or the birth of Islam, this served as a good primer.

Barnabby was a very interesting read for me, filling in a significant gap in my barnxby which I had previously only rogefson read in much detail in chapters L and LI of Gibbon; who is also entertaining and partisan, of course and truth be roberson somewhat better written. Their backlist of travel classics is a treasure trove of around titles — many are available as ebooks that span the globe.
